Nordic Telemedicine Center project starts 1.9.2015

A new project, Nordic Telemedicine Center, starts on September 1st 2015. The project is funded by European Union’s Interreg Botnia Atlantica programme, and will run for 3 years, until 31st August 2018.

During the project, 4 partners from Finland and Sweden (i.e. Västerbottens läns landsting, Umeå University, Vaasa University and South Ostrobothnia Health Technology Development Center) will join their forces to establish a Nordic telemedicine competence center. Physical competence centers will be established in Seinäjoki, Finland and in Umeå, Sweden. A virtual node will be established between these two centers. The project promotes enhanced co-operation and exchange of information between the countries as well as further co-operation between telemedicine companies, researchers and health care professionals in these two countries.
